Activity for Reformation of Basic Needs-ARBAN is a non government volunteer organization involved in development activities in the north-eastern region of Bangladesh. ARBAN started its journey in Purbadhala upazila under Netrokona district March 2000. Since its inception, ARBAN works hard to achieve its objectives and maintains innovative, quality, relevance, efficiency, integrity and time lines whenever it embarks on any program initiatives to unfold itself as a people centered organization. It started from simple operation in Purbadhala. It has expanded its activities in 4 upazilas of three districts covering 3500 beneficiaries.
ARBAN acts merely as the poor people’s partner and facilitates the process of combating the embedded inequalities that stand as roadblock to the formation of a just and democratic social order. Therefore ARBAN has also diversified its activities based on the current reality and peoples need through assessment of its working area. To maximize project impact the organization implements programmes through integrated approach providing full cooperation to counterparts and other support as needed.
ARBAN strongly trusts on “Holistic Approach” for indisputable development of the community people through people active participatory process in planning, decision making and implementation phase of interventions. To concretize the concept the people’s participation, ARBAN has been adopting non-directive participatory self development approaches in its working strategy at all level.
In addition to development initiative ARBAN is also proactively engaged in effective network with reputed national and regional NGOs working in geographically remotest area and strategically important development sector
